but it’s better if you do

Utter failure, here. All I want to do is get the LOL blog updates to appear on the site, a la twloha.org and many other websites. For some reason, I just can’t figure out how. If I use PHP to include the feed, I get a bunch of URLs in text format. So not what I was aiming for. Yahoo! allows use of a WP blog on a website, but it seems like you have to sign up for a totally new account. There’s no way to sign in with a previously existing account. I’ve reached one of those damn roadblocks, and I’m too frustrated to keep trying… Well, maybe. Every time I give up, I think of something else. Like just now. What if I can just get into the Yahoo! Blog Manager without signing up? Is there a way? … No. I think I already tried that, too. ;;^^

I emailed support at Yahoo! about using a pre-existing WP account. Unfortunately, I think the only way to go is to delete the old account and set up a new one in the same name, or create an entirely new account. Guess what? I’m just too tired right now. I’ll work on my JS assignments, instead. Sigh.

Work, work, work..

I need to:

  • work on my JavaScript book for DAT-215
  • do some MET-101 homework
  • learn more about how WordPress works, for both work and LOL
  • write a guide on using the WordPress to post to the LOL site

I also want to finish the story I’m writing for the Nimrod contest. The postmark deadline is April 30th. I started it with just the idea of a very hung over young man waking up in his favorite neighbor’s garden. I originally intended for it to be a story of how she helps him fix his problems, but I just don’t know where it’s going. I also don’t know if it would be something they (the judges at Nimrod) will accept; the magazine has a sort of literary theme. (I discovered too late last year that they don’t dig horror.) So I’m a little out of my usual element, but I guess it can be done. Right?

Testing: 1, 2, 3…

Today before he went on his lunch, my boss asked if I have ever used WordPress and if I could become very familiar with it by tomorrow. WP is my blog of choice for the LOL website (currently in development) because of its contributor levels. So, in short, that spawned me ditching the MySpace blog and starting fresh here. So far I like it. It seems pretty close to EvilLiveJournal, minus all of the bullshit. (:

Now I just have to import all three of my Lj accounts and see if there’s a way to import from MySpace…
